QR Code

A QR Code (Quick Response Code) or 2D barcode can be utilized to distribute a link, allowing respondents to scan a barcode with their smartphone or computer that will take them to your survey. QR codes are especially useful when distributing a link on printed materials or signage, as it is easier to scan a code than to type a URL into a browser.

Qualitative Data

Data that is collected for the purpose of understanding meaning or context, rather than making statistical inferences. These data are often collected via open-ended questions and are more difficult to compare and generalize. Learn how to evaluate your open-ended data with the use of Open Text Analysis.

Data that can be expressed in numeric terms. Our Standard Report offers numerous statistics for such data.

Query String

Query Strings (aka URL variables) make for a quick method for pre-populating existing data into a survey. With a simple query added to the end of the survey link, data can be stored as part of a survey response. This gives you the ability to push information into the survey through your survey for use within the survey body and/or to use when reporting on the survey response. A query string might look like this: ?department=Sales.

Question Alias

Question Aliases, available on the Logic tab of each of your questions, allow you to create a shortname for questions in your survey. These are great to use in reports, exports and custom scripting.

Question ID

Question IDs are unique numbers that are assigned per question. Each newly created question is assigned the next available ID number; a question's location within the survey does not have any bearing on its ID. Question IDs useful when writing custom scripts. These numbers are different than the question numbers.

Z

Z-Index

A property that specifies the stack-order of an Insights Canvas element. A canvas element with greater stack order (shown as a number) is always in front of an element with a lower stack order. While this sounds pretty complex, the idea is quite simple. For example, if you have one element 'x' with a z-index of 2 and element 'y' with a z-index of 1 occupying the same area of your canvas, element 'x' will show in front of 'y' due to x's higher z-index.

Zapier
