The Override Response Status option allows you to change the status of a response while a respondent is taking your survey.
For example, you might want to override response status if your respondents give you a 'complete' response prior to the Thank You page of your survey and then you ask a series of optional demographic questions (where they might then abandon the survey).
You also might use this feature in landing page surveys in which you're forwarding them on to another survey, to flag your responses as complete even though they didn't technically reach a terminal page.
- To set this up, click the pencil icon in the right-hand corner of the page.
- At the bottom of the panel that slides out is the option to Override response status when this page is reached.
- Make your selection and be sure to Save Page.

@Sstarnes: Thank you for your question!
I'm afraid that a response cannot be converted from Complete to Partial via the options described in this article.
The best option is to utilize the Data Import Tool to do so. In your case, you would export the response in question via CSV/Excel:
https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/excel-export
You would then update the response status column to read Partial instead of Complete.
Last, you would re-upload the response via the Data Import tool (using the bulk update feature of the tool):
https://help.surveygizmo.com/help/data-import#bulk-update-existing-answers
I hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support team if you have any questions specific to this process.

I would like to change a 'Completed' response as 'Partial'. A responded submitted a survey without answering all the questions and I shared the edit links with them but I want this response to not show up until the responses is fully completed. How can I do this? Thank you!

@Allison: Thank you for exploring our documentation content!
Any survey page can be set as a landing/terminal page via the page settings. The following article touches on setting survey pages as landing/terminal pages:

@Troels: I think what might work for your case is provide your survey respondent with an edit link. Here is our tutorial with more information on where to find this:

@Beth: Great question!
The response status is overwritten when a respondent lands on the page.
I hope that helps!

What I want to know is when the response status is overwritten - when they land on the page or when the exit it?
