Looking to report on data from multiple surveys in a single report? We have a reporting feature in the Standard Report that allows you to include the data from multiple identical surveys in a single report.
Say, for example, you conduct an identical quarterly survey that you set up as separate surveys. At the end of the year, you want to report on all of the data together. Using the combine related surveys feature you can set up a standard report on your Q4 survey and merge in the data from Q1-Q3.
Combined Results is not compatible with Open Text Analysis.
Setup Combined Results
- To set this up, create a Standard Report on any one of your identical surveys and click Combine Results located in the upper right-hand corner of your report.
- In the search field provided enter either the survey name or ID and select the correct survey when it appears in the menu. You can repeat this for multiple surveys if you wish. The survey construction must be identical. Data is combined using Question IDs - simply having a question that is worded the same across surveys will not work if the Question IDs are not identical.
- Once multiple surveys are added, the data for all surveys will be aggregated together in the report!
Combined Reporting - Deleted Surveys
If you are using the Combined Reporting feature in Standard Reports and you delete (or permanently delete) one of the surveys or data sets that is used in the report, you will need to remove the deleted survey from the report.
At the top of the report, you will see the following message:
This report is combining results with a survey that has been permanently deleted. To continue, remove the deleted survey.
- To remove the deleted survey from the combined report, click the Remove the survey button.
- You will see your combined surveys. Click the red x icon to remove the deleted survey from the report.
- Click Close to finish.

@Keith: You cannot combine survey results into our native reports using the API. However, you can use the API to push response data to an external data source for the purpose of combining.
Check out our API Documentation, here:

Hope this helps!

Is it possible to combine all survey results using API?

@Angelo: Thank you for your question!
I’m afraid that the Combine Results feature is not available on the Professional plan. A Full Access plan is required to gain access to this feature.
I hope this helps clarify.

Can I combine surveys with the professional package?

@Mariya: Thank you for your question!
I'm afraid that it is not currently possible to compare results from two separate surveys side by side within one report.
I'm sorry for the trouble!

Hello! Have you already got an ability to compare the results side by side? When the two data sets are reported separately, while next to each other, for immediate comparisons (i.e., two graphs/averages/etc per questions, one from each survey).

Thanks so much! I am waiting to hear from them.

@Michelle: You can see your user license under Account > Summary > My Preferences.
It looks like you have an open ticket with the support team regarding this issue; they will be able to sort out any issues you are having combining data.
I hope this helps!

Is there an easy way to see what type of license I have? I'm trying to combine results into one report and it's not working for me. Thank you.

@Enquiries: It looks like your license type (Adventurer) does not have access to this feature. You'll need to upgrade to the Voyager license in order to gain access. You can learn more about upgrading here:

I hope this helps!

Hi,
I don't seem to have the combine results option at all, only share and download. How can I access the combine?

@Seattle: Great question!
As long as the Question IDs and Answer Options are identical, the text of the question itself can vary across surveys.
The report will pull in the text of the question that is associated with the survey in which the report was created.
I hope this helps clarify!

Is there a way to combine related survey data when questions are not exactly identical? For instance if the question in one survey is "Please rank this speaker from 1 to 5: Sam Smith" and another is "Please rank this speaker from 1 to 5: Sarah White"?

@Dvendetti: I did a quick test and had similar trouble getting the new chart type to take. But, I did a browser refresh and it displayed properly. Let us know if you continue to have trouble!

I have surveys with identical questions and question Id's but the option for "Combine Results" does not appear on any of my surveys. How can I access this option? Do you need a special report or particular subscription to have this function?

@Jane: We don't currently have the ability to compare the results side by side as you describe. The good news is this is something we would like to do long term. Thank you for this feedback it always helps to get feedback like this to help us prioritize future improvements!

In combined survey data reports it is very useful if the two data sets are reported separately, while next to each other, for immediate comparisons (i.e., two graphs/averages/etc per questions, one from each survey). If data from both surveys, old and new, are joined in one data set then single graphs and averages are of little use in terms of detecting changes between the two survey data. Is there a way to do a comparative joint report?
