Insights Canvas: Sharing Options

There are several options for sharing your Insights Canvas with your clients or stakeholders. Your canvas can be downloaded as a PNG image file, shared online, or emailed to its intended audience.

Share a Hard Copy of Your Insights Canvas

If you would like to share a hard-copy of your Insights Canvas, you can do so by downloading a PNG image file of the canvas.

To do so, simply click the Download option in the upper-right of your canvas and the download will start immediately.

Note: This option is great for a canvas that uses data from completed surveys and other elements that are not being dynamically updated.

Share Your Insights Canvas Online

After creating, styling, and customizing your Insights Canvas click the Share Canvas option in the upper right of your canvas to get started with sharing.

First, you'll see a Shareable Link available for sharing your Insights Canvas online. You also have the option to Customize this link where you can choose between a default, branded subdomain or private domain link. Learn how to make sure that all canvas links use your private domain by default (requires Account Administrator privileges).

Want a preview of what viewers will see when you send out this link? Click View to get a preview of the canvas itself. Here, you can test out any Tap Events that you may have configured.

Below the Shareable Link you'll have a link to Embed on your website. If you click this link you'll be provided with a JavaScript Embed Code you can use to embed your Insights Canvas right on your website! To do so copy the Embed Code and paste it on your website.

Customize Privacy Settings in the Insights Canvas

Before you share your Insights Canvas, you'll probably want to consider the privacy settings for the canvas. Under Who can see this canvas you'll have the following 4 options:

Public

If you choose to make the canvas public, the canvas will be indexed by search engines and anyone on the internet may be able to find it (with the right search terms of course).

Note: All Personally Identifiable Information (PII), e.g. Names, Email Addresses, etc., will be automatically excluded from publicly shared canvases. This includes the Public and Anyone with the link share options.

Anyone with the link

Viewers must be provided with the link to get to the canvas. Search engines will not be able to index the canvas or serve it up in search results.

Note: All Personally Identifiable Information (PII), e.g. Names, Email Addresses, etc., will be automatically excluded from publicly shared canvases. This includes the Public and Anyone with the link share options.

Password Protected

Viewers must have the link as well as a password to view your insights canvas. When you select this option you'll specify the password in the field provided below.

Only Logged-in SurveyGizmo Users

This option will take viewers to the SurveyGizmo login page in order to see the canvas. They will then need to authenticate with their SurveyGizmo login credentials.

Note: All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is automatically excluded from publicly shared canvases.

Insights Canvas Share Options

Below the privacy options you'll have several other sharing options available.

Allow Date Filtering

This option will provide the date filter menu to your viewers. The date filters will apply to Data Elements only.

Allow Comments

The allow comments option will allow viewers toggle a View Comments option to make comments on the canvas. Once a comment is added they'll also be available for viewers to review.

Allow Exports

This option will provide viewers an option to download the canvas as a PNG image file.

Tap Events

If you have configured any Tap Events for specific canvas elements, these tap events will be active when your Insights Canvas is shared.

Email and Schedule Options for Your Insights Canvas

Once you check the option to Email Canvas Automatically you'll have a number of tools available to set up a one-time delivery or recurring deliveries of your Insights Canvas.

One-time Delivery

1. Get started by specifying a date and time for the email to send. Specify this date/time according to your account time zone.

2. In the Send To field enter up to 5 email addresses. These will be the recipients of your Insights Canvas. Please remember to use commas (no spaces) between each email address.

3. Customize the From Email, From Name, Subject, and Message fields. While these are not required, we recommend personalizing these fields to help the email recipients identify who the email is coming from and what the content of the email is about.

Recurring Deliveries

The Recurring delivery option allows you to select your desired email delivery schedule so that your recipients can receive your canvases at specified increments.

1. Get started by selecting the recurring delivering schedule you wish to use.

You will also see an option to Only send scheduled report if there is new data. Checking this option will only generate an email if new data has been collected since the last email was sent.

2. In the Send To field enter up to 5 email addresses. These will be the recipients of your canvas. Please remember to use commas (no spaces) between each email address.

3. Customize the From Email, From Name, Subject, and Message fields. While these are not required, we recommend personalizing these fields to help the email recipients identify who the email is coming from and what the content of the email is about.

Unschedule an Email

To stop a scheduled email from sending simply go to Share Canvas in the upper right of your Insights Canvas and uncheck the option to Email Canvas Automatically. Click Save and you're all set!
